Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, and managing inventory, stocking and receiving. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position on a limited-term basis.

You will assist with recruiting, merchandising, cash handling, and daily store operations while ensuring customer service excellence and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and diagrams.
• Accurate mathematical calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.
• Familiarity with IBM cash registers and reporting.
• Understanding inventory management and merchandising.
• Knowledge of cash, safety and store control policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and signage.
• Participate in inventory management and cycle counts.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store operations oversight.
• Adhere to company policies and security procedures.
• Participate in opening/closing the store and cash handling.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on deadlines.
