Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in executing store processes, supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking, and handling paperwork. This role is designed for an external candidate development for a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and cash handling while ensuring a safe, well-organized store. The position requires frequent activity and collaboration with store leadership to maintain

Qualifications

• Two or more years of leadership or managerial experience.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by facilitating and/or participating in staging, stocking and storage of merchandise; uses fixtures, signs and pricing per policy.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management and prepares inventories.
• Follows ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provides customer service leadership.
• Acts as a role model by following Company procedures and policies.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures secure deposit of Company funds and cashier accountability.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operates store in Store Manager’s absence.
• Reviews operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Completes all paperwork according to guidelines and deadlines.
