Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, and merchandising. This role provides hands-on development for creating future store leadership and will be filled for a limited period.

The candidate will assist with recruiting, ensure accurate inventory levels, customer service excellence, and compliance with company policies while helping manage opening/closing activities and cash controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and follow procedures.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and report generation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to procedures.
• Manage inventory processes, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Support in opening/closing procedures and bank deposits.
• Provide superior customer service and lead by example.
• Monitor operating statements and identify trends and control opportunities.
