Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager with staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and daily store operations. This role helps develop external candidates for future Store Manager positions within a limited duration.

You will assist in recruiting, ensure compliance with store procedures, and participate in opening/closing activities while maintaining cash control and a safe shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules and procedures manuals.
• Strong math skills for calculating percentages and totals.
• Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and store paperwork.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in the manager's absence and review operating statements.
