Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising employees, handling staffing, inventory, stocking, and receiving, paperwork, and store needs.

This role is to develop external candidates for the Store Manager role for a limited period, with duties spanning opening/closing, cash control, merchandising, and in-store performance improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain store locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, stocking, and pricing.
• Assist in inventory management and related paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store as needed.
• Maintain cash control and deposit procedures.
