Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, inventory, merchandising and daily operations. This role supports the external candidate development for the Store Manager position and is held for a limited period.

Responsibilities include recruitment assistance, inventory and merchandise management, and ensuring store standards and cash controls are met daily.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Act as a role model by following company procedures and policies.
