Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in supervising staff, managing inventory, stocking, and paperwork. This role supports an external candidate for the Store Manager position for a limited period.

The incumbent will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory controls, and customer service leadership while following company policies and safety practices. This position requires relocation flexibility and a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire, and counsel employees with attention to legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking to meet in-stock targets.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and store damages/markdowns.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation according to guidelines.
