Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in supervising staff, staffing, inventory, stocking, and paperwork for a limited period. The role develops an external candidate for the Store Manager position while working across store processes.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and customer service leadership, and participate in opening/closing duties and cash handling procedures to maintain store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two or more years of leadership or managerial experience.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assists in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assists with store merchandising by staging, stocking and storage of merchandise and ensuring proper presentation.
• Assists in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and controls.
• Follows ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Participates in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensures safe deposit of company funds and cash control procedures.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operates store in store manager’s absence.
• Reviews operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
