Overview

99 Ranch Market is one of the largest Asian supermarket chains in the United States, with locations across California, Nevada, Texas, Washington, Oregon, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, and more. We are passionate about shaping the Asian supermarket culture within the grocery industry and are expanding our team. We are seeking Management Trainees in various departments including Seafood, Grocery, Produce, Cashier, Meat, and Assistant Store Management.

Responsibilities
  • Undergo 6 to 8 months of training and evaluations. Post-training, be responsible for store department operations, SOP compliance, product knowledge, planning, ordering, organization, employee management, and supervisory duties.
  • Manage daily department operations to meet company standards.
  • Collaborate with store management on promotion plans and sales targets.
  • Maintain product displays, ensure freshness, and stock shelves.
  • Order products based on inventory, promotions, and delivery schedules.
  • Receive and inspect shipments, manage inventory, and oversee product rotation.
  • Develop knowledge of local vendors and products.
  • Utilize computer programs for labeling and pricing.
  • Manage staff schedules, attendance, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and operate equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift 25+ lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays; willingness to relocate and travel for training.
  • Strong reading, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills for handling sensitive situations.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software, Microsoft Office, or SAP preferred.
  • Bilingual in English, Chinese, and Spanish highly preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and at least 18 years old.

Compensation & Location

Hourly pay during training: $20-$22. Post-assessment, promotion to exempt status. Locations include Edison, Jersey City, and Hackensack, NJ. Full-time position with weekend and holiday shifts, 40-48 hours/week, overtime as needed.
