Job summary

Carter’s, the leading baby and children’s apparel brand, seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Washington. You’ll lead a team, greet families, coach on product features, and maintain a welcoming, inclusive store culture. Your role helps drive sales, customer loyalty, and a consistent omnichannel experience.

You will partner with the Store Manager to recruit, train, and develop staff, manage KPIs, and ensure merchandising standards. Expect a supportive environment with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of retail or related management experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic technology.

Responsibilities

• Execute workforce management to ensure a genuine customer focus on the sales floor.
• Welcome customers with a warm greeting and provide assistance with product styles, features and benefits.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for employees and customers.
• Coach others to meet service standards and omnichannel experiences.
• Analyze the business and communicate KPIs with the team to improve results.
• Build customer loyalty through company programs, including credit.
• Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing the store team.
• Recognize exceptional performance and redirect employees when needed.
• Plan, track, and report tasks and financial results using company tools.
• Partner with Store Manager on merchandising standards and promotions.
• Reduce loss through customer service, education, and operations controls.
