Job summary

Carter’s Inc. in Bethesda, MD is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to greet families, promote our baby and kids brands, and lead a team with a customer-first approach. You’ll coach staff, manage daily operations, and deliver on sales goals while maintaining a welcoming, inclusive store atmosphere.

You will partner with the Store Manager to optimize staffing, merchandising, and program execution, ensuring exceptional service and brand standards across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of retail or related management experience.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Availability including days, nights, weekends and holidays, with at least two closing shifts weekly.

Responsibilities

• Execute workforce management to ensure a genuine customer focus on the sales floor.
• Welcome customers and assist with product styles, features and benefits.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for employees and customers.
• Coach others to meet service standards and omnichannel excellence.
• Analyze business metrics and drive KPIs with the team.

• Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, and developing the team.

• Reduce loss through consistent service and operational controls.
