Job summary

Vans is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the store team in Downey, CA, driving sales and leadership. You will monitor KPIs, coach staff, and ensure top-notch customer service while supporting store operations and talent onboarding.

You will work with the Store Manager to manage expenses, uphold brand standards, and foster an inclusive, dynamic environment. Strong communication and leadership are essential in this fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to drive results through store teams.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Capable of standing and moving throughout the store.
• 2+ years of retail or store leadership experience.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the store team in achieving and exceeding sales goals by monitoring progress against KPIs and individual goals.
• Lead and coach the team to exceed productivity goals and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Supervise daily store operations including opening/closing, floor coverage, and task delegation.
• Assist Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding top talent.
• Provide ongoing training, feedback, and development to team members.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Partner with Store Manager to manage expenses, shrink, and profitability.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and product replenishment aligned with brand directives.
• Foster accountability, creativity, and a culture of continuous improvement.
