Job summary

Vans is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Downey, CA. You will lead and develop a team of Brand Advocates to deliver exceptional customer experiences aligned with Vans values.

You will partner with the Store Manager to drive profitability through excellent engagement, merchandising, and operations, stepping in for the Store Manager when needed. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of retail leadership in fast-paced environments, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a track record of coaching

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and motivate a team of Brand Advocates to deliver best-in-class customer experience reflecting our brand values.
• Partner with the Store Manager to drive profitability through excellence in customer engagement, merchandising, and operations.
• Oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing, floor coverage, and task delegation.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding high-caliber talent.
• Provide ongoing training, feedback, and development to team members.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and standards.
• Help manage expenses, shrink, and maintain brand-aligned visual merchandising.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing retail environment.
