Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, training, and performance management. You will be responsible for opening/closing the store, maintaining inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, experience in retail management, and the ability to drive sales through effective merchandising, cash controls, and team development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, train and supervise staff with performance evaluations.
• Strong knowledge of store operations, loss prevention and cash handling.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training and conduct performance evaluations; counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make recommendations on pay, promotions and advancement.
• Communicate expectations and coordinate safety, security and policy adherence.
• Open and close the store reliably at least twice per week.
• Monitor sales trends, inventory, and shrink; manage ordering and replenishment.
