Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, training, ordering, receiving, inventory, presentation and selling. You will drive customer service and enforce safety policies while maintaining compliance with company standards.

The role requires coordinating opening/closing, managing cash control, and developing a high-performing team in a fast-paced retail environment. Strong leadership and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures and instructions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all store employees; plan and implement store processes (ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing).
• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per labor laws and company policies; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and address gaps, counseling or termination as needed.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store as required; ensure proper staffing and operations daily.
• Monitor operating statements to identify trends, expenses, shrink, and errors.
• Manage stock levels, ordering plans, BSR and cycle counts.
