Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, training, inventory control, pricing, and customer service. You will plan and implement store processes, manage ordering, receiving, stocking, and presentation to drive sales.

This role requires strong leadership, adherence to company policies, and the ability to open and close the store, supervise staff, ensure safety, and provide exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and manuals.
• Perform arithmetic calculations and percentages.
• Understand cash handling and deposit control.
• Operate cash register and generate reports.
• Know inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling, and termination including legal compliance.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees per laws and policies; staff the store.
• Provide training; conduct evaluations; identify gaps; counsel or terminate as needed.
• Recommend pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate performance expectations; coordinate meetings to reinforce safety and policies.
• Ensure proper staffing and opening/closing of the store.
• Evaluate operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Review ordering plans and inventory management weekly; monitor BSR.
• Facilitate staging, stocking and storage of merchandise.
• Present merchandise according to standards with pricing and signage.
• Maintain accurate inventory; manage damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork.
• Ensure financial integrity with cashier accountability and cash control.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment.
• Ensure store has necessary tools.
• Follow SOPs and company policies; ensure compliance.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
