Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager in Cahokia, IL who will lead all store operations and workforce planning to ensure strong customer service and sales results.

You will recruit, train, and evaluate staff, manage daily opening/closing, oversee inventory, safety, and compliance, and drive profitability through effective merchandising and team leadership. This role requires strong leadership and a commitment to store standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire, counsel and terminate per policy and law.
• Familiarity with basic store operations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead all employees in planning and implementing store processes including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support.
• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; address gaps including counseling or termination when needed.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings to promote safety and policy adherence.
• Ensure the store opens and closes properly and is staffed.
• Manage inventory levels, address stock targets, and review ordering plans weekly.
