Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, training, ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, and cash control. You will hire and train employees, evaluate performance, and ensure safety and policy compliance while driving sales and profitability.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to maintain a well‑stocked, customer‑focused store environment and to open/close the store as scheduled.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees and ensures adequate staffing.
• Provides training, conducts performance evaluations, and counsels staff as needed.
• Manage pay rate recommendations and staff advancement decisions.
• Communicates expectations and conducts meetings to reinforce safety and policies.
• Open/close the store as scheduled and manage daily operations.
• Analyze store performance, sales trends, and inventory accuracy.
• Oversee ordering, replenishment, and inventory control processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing, and signage compliance.
• Maintain cash handling integrity, deposits, and cash control procedures.
• Deliver superior customer service leadership and a safe work environment.
• Keep a clean, organized store and proper equipment availability.
