Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager to oversee planning and execution of all store processes, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presenting merchandise, and staffing the team.

You will recruit and train employees, conduct performance evaluations, manage safety and cash controls, monitor sales and inventory, and ensure excellent customer service while keeping the store clean and well organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with recruiting, interviewing and termination practices.

Responsibilities

• Staffing and scheduling to ensure proper store coverage.
• Provide training for employees and conduct performance evaluations.
• Recommend pay rate adjustments and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; conduct meetings.
• Open/close the store as required, ensuring security and readiness.
• Analyze sales, shrink and inventory to identify opportunities.
• Monitor ordering and stock levels; manage replenishment and cycles.
• Maintain visual standards and pricing; ensure accurate signage.
• Uphold cash controls, deposits and store security procedures.
• Deliver superior customer service and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
