Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, training and daily execution. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and customer service to meet sales and profitability targets.

Responsibilities include performance evaluations, safety compliance, and maintaining accurate inventory and cash control while delivering an excellent shopping experience for customers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets diagrams, safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Performs math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform cash register functions to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and recruiting/retention practices knowledge.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies (deposits, store keys).
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems and handle diverse situations.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees per labor laws and Company policies; ensures proper staffing.
• Provides training, conducts performance evaluations, identifies gaps and counsels or terminates as needed.
• Makes recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings to ensure safety and compliance.
• Keeps store adequately staffed and opened/closed as required.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify trends and opportunities for cost control.
• Manages ordering and inventory planning; oversees stock replenishment and cycle counts.
• Oversees merchandise staging, stocking and presentation according to Company standards.
• Maintains accurate inventory and cash controls; ensures security practices are followed.
• Delivers superior customer service and maintains a clean, safe store environment.
