Job summary

Dollar General Owensboro store is seeking a store manager to direct all store operations, staffing, training and performance management to meet sales targets and deliver strong customer service.

You will oversee opening/closing, inventory, merchandising, cashier controls, and adherence to company policies, while leading a team to maintain a safe, clean environment and positive shopper experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and store operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policy; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and address performance gaps including counseling/termination.
• Make recommendations on pay and advancement; communicate expectations and policies.
• Open/close store as required and ensure safe, compliant operations.
• Evaluate sales, inventory, and expenses; monitor in-stock targets and stock replenishment.
• Oversee merchandise presentation, pricing, and signage; maintain financial controls and cashier accountability.
• Lead customer service initiatives and maintain a clean, secure shopping environment.
