Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience with IBM cash registers or similar systems.
• Familiarity with inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, and termination practices, including legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage store staff across planning, ordering, receiving, stocking, presenting and selling.
• Recruit, train, evaluate and coach employees; address performance issues and termination as needed.
• Determine pay, advancement, and staffing needs; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Communicate expectations and safety policies; conduct regular meetings to reinforce procedures.
• Open and close the store on a consistent schedule.
• Analyze operating statements to identify trends and opportunities for cost control and profitability.
