Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; management experience in retail preferred.
• Recruit, select and retain staff in compliance with labor laws and company policies.
• Train employees, conduct performance evaluations and address gaps or discipline as needed.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits and cashier accountability.
• Understand inventory management, stock replenishment and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; maintain safety standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is appropriately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends (sales, profitability, turn), expense control opportunities, shrink, and errors.
• Orders to meet or exceed in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan, seasonal direction and inventory management issues weekly; follows up on BSR/cycle counts.
• Facilitates efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise according to company processes.
• Ensures merchandise is presented per established practices; uses fixtures, pricing and signage correctly.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and facility controls.
• Ensures financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Keeps store clean, organized and safe, with proper equipment and tools available.
• Follows company SOPs, handbook and communications; ensures employee compliance.
• Completes all paperwork and documentation on time.
