Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, staffing and daily sales performance.

You will recruit and train employees, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on management in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in retail preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling and inventory management.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains employees per laws and policies; ensure proper staffing.
• Provides training, conducts evaluations, and counsels employees as needed.
• Makes recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Sets expectations, communicates policies, and coordinates safety and security.
• Ensures open/close procedures and proper staffing across shifts.
• Analyzes sales, profitability and inventory trends for improvements.
• Manages ordering and stock levels; reviews BSR and cycle counts.
• Oversees merchandising presentation, pricing and signage.
• Maintains cash handling accuracy and cash controls; enforces store security.
• Delivers superior customer service leadership and maintains a clean store.
• Completes all paperwork and aligns with SOPs and guidelines.
