Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee all store operations, including staffing, training, and inventory management. You will lead daily activities, drive sales, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on supervision of cash handling, merchandising, and loss-prevention efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to lead, train and coach store staff and ensure policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is staffed.
• Provides training, conducts performance evaluations, and counsels employees.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance and safety expectations; coordinates safety meetings.
• Ensures store opens/closes properly and staffing is adequate.
• Evaluates store performance including sales, profitability and shrink.
• Monitors ordering and inventory to meet in-stock targets.
• Facilitates merchandising and pricing compliance.
• Maintains accurate inventory and cash controls.
• Provides customer service leadership and a safe shopping environment.
