Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store under the Store Manager's direction. You will assist with supervision of staff, merchandising, and store operations to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

The role involves stocking, cashiering, deposit preparation, and maintaining security while driving loss prevention. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, restocking and building displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and facility controls.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms; ensure merchandise is presented as directed.
• Assist in cash handling and deposits; maintain cashier accountability and security practices.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
