Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in running a clean, customer-focused store. You will supervise employees, manage merchandise and deposits, and help maximize profitability while protecting assets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow work processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and control losses.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms and display standards.
• Assist in cashier accountability, key control, and deposits; sign refunds/overrides and count tills.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager’s absence.
