Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervision, merchandise presentation, deposits, and store operations under the Store Manager's direction.

The role involves stocking, cashiering, and supervising staff, ensuring planograms and inventory accuracy, and protecting assets. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret store procedures and safety guidelines.
• Ability to perform cash handling and basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Ensure planograms are followed and merchandise presented professionally.
• Maintain cashier accountability and process refunds/overrides with accuracy.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
