Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, help with merchandising, deposits, and daily paperwork, while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year retail experience and 6 months supervisory preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training, safety meetings and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and displaying.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Implement and maintain planograms; ensure compliant merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cashier accountability and deposits; count tills and secure deposits.
• Assist in store leadership in the Store Manager's absence.
