Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations with a strong customer-first focus. You will assist with supervision, merchandising, deposits, and loss prevention, while ensuring exceptional service and profitability.

The role includes cashiering, stocking, and leading staff under the Store Manager; there is a focus on safety, scheduling, and maintaining planograms to drive sales and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to handle cash and deposits accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate cash register.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training employees.
• Manage merchandise including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and planograms.
• Ensure financial integrity with cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
