Job summary

Blarney Castle Oil Co. is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in directing a team at our Brooks Township location. You will lead front-of-store operations, coach staff, and ensure service, cleanliness and product quality align with company standards.

The role requires excellent communication, reliability, and flexibility to work various shifts, including on-call periods. On-site work, with a focus on safety, banking tasks, and daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of retail experience.
• Ability to read, write, understand and apply instructions, procedures, recipes, and training materials.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, in both verbal and written form to leadership standards.
• Able to work any shift and be available on-call; dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Display a customer comes first attitude with immediate attention to customers.
• Assist Store Manager by supporting implementation of Company programs and motivating employees.
• Identify, communicate, and delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide clear coaching to employees on shift to improve performance.
• Assist with new employee training and provide feedback to store manager.
• Maintain calm during high volume and unusual events; ensure safe operations.
• Assist in promotions and stock availability; coordinate with manager on stock needs.
• Maintain pricing and inventory levels; place inventory orders as needed.
• Follow all company policies and ensure compliance with laws and safety procedures.
• Prepare and deliver deposits; reconcile daily receipts.
• Ensure maintenance issues are communicated and resolved promptly.
• Lead safety meetings and act as Safety Captain.
• Respond to emergencies outside normal hours.
• Work on-site at assigned store location.
• Complete training within deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.
