Job summary

Blarney Castle Oil is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Michigan to support the Store Manager in daily operations and staff leadership. You will connect with customers and employees, coach the team, and help ensure service, cleanliness, and product quality across shifts.

Responsibilities include implementing company programs, managing schedules, training new staff, and maintaining inventory and pricing to standards while complying with laws and safety policies. On-site work required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years progressively responsible retail experience.
• Demonstrated good math skills for change, sales, tax, and inventory.
• Able to read, write, understand and apply instructions and training materials.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills for leadership and teamwork.
• Able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated computer literacy; POS, HR and Microsoft Office helpful.
• Able to work any shift and be available on-call; regular attendance essential.
• Reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance for off-site duties.
• Age 18 or older for age-restricted sales.

Responsibilities

• Display a customer comes first attitude and resolve complaints promptly.
• Assist Store Manager by implementing company programs and motivating staff.
• Identify, delegate tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide clear coaching to employees on shift to improve performance.
• Assist with new employee training and provide feedback to the manager.
• Remain calm during high volume periods and maintain standards.
• Assist in marketing, fuel and food strategies and ensure stock availability.
• Maintain pricing and inventory levels and monitor vendor performance.
• Follow all policies, ensure compliance with laws and train as needed.
• Report events or concerns to the Store Manager.
• Prepare deposits and reconcile daily receipts; resolve variances.
• Ensure maintenance issues are communicated and resolved timely.
• Lead safety measures and conduct safety meetings.
• Respond to emergencies outside normal hours as needed.
• Perform all work on-site at the store location.
• Complete training within deadlines and perform other duties.
