Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to direct all business processes at the Nashville-area store and deliver positive results. You will lead a team across departments, drive sales, and ensure superior customer service in a fast-paced, safety-compliant environment.

The role demands strong leadership, P&L oversight, and the ability to train and develop a diverse store team while maintaining high standards of food safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business management, marketing, retailing, communications, advertising, or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of retail experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Proven success leading non-perishable and perishable department operations with integrity, including profit and loss, safety, staffing, disciplinary actions, training, developing leaders, conducting performance appraisals, meeting deadlines, managing inventory and shrink, executing promotions, and merchandising.
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with attention to detail, analytical, and solution-focused decisiveness.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, bookkeeping/accounting, time and attendance, and human resources software.
• Flexible to work a schedule that changes based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have and maintain Food Safety certification.
• Able to lift 60 pounds between 15 inches and 70 inches above the ground; heavier items occasionally.
• Pushing and pulling racks and U-boats of merchandise; force ranges 80-100 pounds.
• Stand on hard surfaces; walk up to 2 miles; reach and transfer items.
• Wear PPE as required (non-slip shoes, long pants, gloves).
• Tools and equipment include phone, computer, ovens, freezers, meat/cheese cutters, scales, scanners, cash register, pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Shape the store culture by modeling Sprouts leadership values.
• Develop the store leadership team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Lead a team of approximately ten people (Department Managers and Receivers) with integrity and respect.
• Motivate and develop the management team by embracing Sprouts leadership behaviors.
• Drive store sales and customer advocacy through strong leadership.
• Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating merchandise.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and compliance with laws and company requirements.
• Communicate expectations and new initiatives to store teams and partners.
• Address emergencies and issues with urgency and effective resolution.
• Maintain product freshness, labeling, and accurate pricing.
