Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to guide all store operations, supervise a team of Department Managers and Receivers, and ensure a superior customer experience. You will drive sales, manage inventory and safety programs, and mentor leaders across departments.

The role requires strong leadership, P&L awareness, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced grocery environment while upholding company standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in business management, marketing, retailing, communications, advertising or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of retail experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated success leading non-perishable and perishable department operations with integrity, including profit and loss, safety, staffing, disciplinary actions, training, developing leaders, performance appraisals, deadlines, inventory and shrink.
• Professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail, analytical and solution-focused decisiveness.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, bookkeeping/accounting, time and attendance, and HR software.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Food Safety certification.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Positively shape the culture in the store by modeling leadership behaviors aligned to Sprouts values.
• Develop the store leadership team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Lead a team of approximately ten people (Department Managers and Receivers).
• Motivate and develop the management team while embracing Sprouts leadership behaviors.
• Ensure customer satisfaction and continuously improve store operations.
• Oversee inventory management, ordering, receiving, and price changes.
• Maintain compliance with safety and sanitation standards and federal/state requirements.
• Drive sales growth and store experience through Educate and Enrich standards.
• Oversee invoicing from distribution centers and vendors; resolve discrepancies.
• Lead Receivers and backroom organization, cleanliness, and safety.
