Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will help customers locate and purchase goods, operate the cash register, stock merchandise, and support store operations.

This role includes acting in a lead capacity when the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is absent. You will perform duties of a Sales Associate and may open/close the store as directed, support planogram compliance, and contribute to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to operate a cash register and process payments.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank for deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner; itemize totals, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise; restock and rotate on shelves; build displays.
• Clean store; take out trash; mop floors; clean restrooms and stockroom.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintenance.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform duties of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
