Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to oversee new store, expansion and remodel projects from pre-construction through warranty, including schedules, plan reviews, bidding and budget management.

The role involves coordinating with Purchasing, Real Estate, Operations and Engineering, overseeing construction activities, and ensuring projects meet prototype standards and lease requirements. Travel up to 80% with a remote Friday, and candidates in NC/SC/VA encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts and processes.
• Ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across contractors and partners.
• Willingness to travel weekly.

Responsibilities

• Lead bidding and awarding processes with GCs, CM's, and subcontractors on Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Compile bid documents and ensure timely, accurate RFQ packages.
• Prepare contracts, purchase orders, and process payments for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Manage change orders and ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Oversee redline reviews of ARCH/MEP plans for code conformance.
• Develop phase plans, schedules, and milestones, and monitor progress against them.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Operations, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor contractor performance and communicate risks to management.
