Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to lead store development projects from pre-construction through opening and warranty. The role covers bidding, contracting, budgeting, and site supervision for Food Lion-contracted stores, with significant travel (80%) and a remote Friday workday.

Ideal candidates hold a construction-related degree and 5–7 years of project leadership experience. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and may reside in NC, SC, or VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM or Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5-7 years of construction experience required.
• Experience leading projects with contractors, developers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding with GCs, CMs, subs and suppliers for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Prepare and manage contracts, purchase orders, and invoices for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Oversee Change Orders to ensure validity and timely payments.
• Lead redline reviews of ARCH/MEP drawings for code compliance and prototypes.
• Develop cost-saving ideas and value engineering across projects.
• Plan store expansions and remodels with detailed phase plans and milestones.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Refrigeration, Real Estate and Operations on schedules and handoffs.
• Direct weekly project meetings with stakeholders and track progress against milestones.
• Ensure on-site activities meet plans, standards and safety requirements.
• Manage project closeout including punch lists, warranties and signoffs.
