Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to lead new store, expansion and remodel projects from pre-construction through warranty, managing schedules, bids, budgets and sign-offs. The role requires travel (80% weekly with a remote office day on Friday) and may be filled by a candidate residing in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia.

You will oversee GC/CM bidders, coordinate with internal departments, ensure compliance with prototype standards, and drive cost-saving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across contractors, developers/landlords, vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Ability to travel weekly.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes for GC's/CM's and subcontractors, and monitor performance.
• Prepare and manage bid documents, RFQ packages and related schedules.
• Prepare contracts, purchase orders, processing and payment of requisitions.
• Oversee Change Authorization/Change Order processes to control costs.
• Coordinate bid, contract and requisition approvals for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Review ARCH/MEP redlines for codes and standards.
• Provide value engineering feedback to the Engineering department.
• Develop and implement cost-saving ideas and project phase plans.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Refrigeration, Real Estate, Preconstruction/A&E and Operations.
• Oversee construction activities to meet milestones and prototype standards.
• Monitor developer/landlord-built projects and communicate issues affecting timely completion.
• Issue complete period budget reports and review pending change orders.
• Update period budget reports and align with committed costs.
