Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to lead new store, expansion, and remodel projects from pre-construction through warranty. The role covers budgets, schedules, and turn-key construction oversight with 80% travel, Monday-Thursday, and a remote office day on Friday.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Construction Management or Engineering and 5–7 years in construction, with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs and engineering concepts and processes.
• Ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across multiparty stakeholders.
• Demonstrated capability to develop, manage, and execute complex phased planning and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bidding and awarding for GC's/CM's and subcontractors on Food Lion projects.
• Compile bid documents and manage RFQ packages to minimize project cost and avoid changes.
• Handle contract, PO, requisition processing and payment for Food Lion work.
• Manage Change Authorization/Change Orders to keep costs in line with scope.
• Review ARCH/MEP redlines for code compliance and prototyping standards.
• Provide value engineering feedback to engineering and drive cost-saving ideas.
• Plan stores, expansions, remodels, and department rollouts with phased schedules.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Operations and other stakeholders on schedules and handoffs.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure timely completion and compliance with standards.
• Track budgets and update management on financial status and variances.
