Steve Madden Store is seeking a Store Assistant Manager to partner with the Store Manager on all store operations and guide a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience aligned with the brand. This role requires 3–5 years in retail, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to train staff, manage inventory, and scheduling in a fast-paced fashion environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of retail experience.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and planning abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in staffing, coaching, and developing staff.
• Experience processing information through POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to maximize profitability and ensure standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences with a client-focused approach.
• Support visual merchandising to maintain brand directives.
• Ensure merchandise replenishment on the selling floor.
• Assist in loss prevention, safety policies, and store procedures.
• Help with training, operations, inventory, and store administration.
• Foster development and accountability within the team.
• Process transactions and merchandise through the POS system.
• Assist in hiring qualified candidates and scheduling as needed.
• Be flexible and perform other duties as assigned.
