Job summary

Steve Madden is seeking a Store Assistant Manager (full-time) to work with the Store Manager on all store operations and develop a team of brand advocates to deliver an exceptional customer experience aligned with our brand values.

The role focuses on profitability through customer engagement, merchandising, and daily operations while ensuring loss prevention and safety policies are followed. A strong candidate has 3–5 years in retail and proven staff development abilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate people, resources, and services to address business goals and needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store budget preparation, and loss prevention.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Understanding of how to develop staff with experience in staffing, coaching, counseling, etc.
• Ability to process information or merchandise through the computer system and POS register system.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to maximize profitability by ensuring customer engagement, merchandising, operations, and community connection are consistent with company standards.
• Create amazing customer experiences through strong client focus and collaboration, ensuring the team is motivated to deliver memorable experiences.
• Partner with the Store Manager to implement visual merchandising directives to maintain the brand strategies.
• Ensure appropriate replenishment of merchandise on the selling floor.
• Partner with the Store Manager to ensure compliance and adherence to loss prevention and safety policies and procedures.
