Steve Madden Store in Culver City, CA is seeking a Store Assistant Manager to work closely with the Store Manager on store operations and people development, ensuring an exceptional customer experience that reflects the brand.

You will lead a team, drive client focus, oversee merchandising, inventory, and loss prevention, and participate in hiring and training. The role requires a 3–5 year retail background and flexible schedule, including weekends.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of retail operations including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, and loss prevention.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Store Manager to maximize profitability by ensuring customer engagement, merchandising, operations, and community connection comply with standards.
• Create amazing customer experiences through strong client focus and collaboration, keeping the team motivated.
• Partner with the Store Manager to implement visual merchandising directives to maintain brand strategies.
• Ensure appropriate replenishment of merchandise on the selling floor.
• Partner with the Store Manager to ensure compliance with loss prevention and safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in operations including training, inventory management, and store administration.
• Foster an environment of development and accountability.
• Process information through the POS system and computer systems.
• Assist Store Manager in selecting and hiring qualified candidates.
• Be flexible and perform duties beyond your specific role when needed.
