Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for the night shift (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM). The role involves delivering patient care using the nursing process, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, and guiding patient education while supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements include an active RN license (state or compact) and at least 1 year of RN experience; BLS/ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice or compact license required.
• 1 year RN experience required; new grads considered.
• ACLS/BLS certifications preferred or must obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Administer medications per policy and state regulations.
• Coordinate patient care across hospital departments and with families.
• Provide patient teaching and ensure safety and quality improvements.
• Act as patient advocate and participate in interdisciplinary rounds.
