Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is hiring a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for the Youngstown area. The role provides patient care using the nursing process, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, and guiding patient education.

You will work the night shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am) with care coordination across departments and ongoing assessment of patient needs. New grads are encouraged to apply and contribute to compassionate care excellence.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
• BLS and/or ACLS certification (preferred at hire; ACLS required within 6 months)
• CCR N or PCCN certifications (preferred)
• NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment; creates and adjusts plan of care.
• Administers medications safely per policy and state practice.
• Serves as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments.
• Acts as patient safety advocate and participates in quality improvement.
• Collaborates with spiritual, palliative care, and ethics teams; supports families.
• Performs care coordination and supports patient and family throughout care.
• Demonstrates evidence-based practice using clinical judgement and AACN Synergy Model.
