Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for night shift (7:00 pm–7:30 am). The role requires strong critical care experience and an RN license; new grads are welcome.

The RN coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team and ensures patient safety and education across the care continuum. Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, and ongoing care planning for adults on the Progressive Care Unit.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS (preferred at hire, must obtain; ACLS within 6 months)
• CCRN and PCCN (preferred)
• NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)
• EPIC EHR training (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment and plans of care.
• Administers medications according to policies and procedures.
• Acts as patient safety advocate and participates in quality improvement.
• Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team and family.
• Clinical management of patients with multi-system issues and trauma.
• Utilizes nursing process to evaluate and adjust patient care.
