Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown, OH is seeking a Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver patient care on the stepdown unit using the nursing process. You will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes.

The ideal candidate has an active OH RN license, 1 year of RN experience (new grads welcome), BLS/ACLS preferred, and a passion for compassionate, evidence-based care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Ohio or compact state.
• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of RN experience required; new grads welcomed.
• ACLS/CCRN/BLS certifications preferred or required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and plan of care.
• Administer medications per policy and safety standards.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team and family.
• Support patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide patient education and discharge planning.
• Maintain documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
