Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Procurement Manager specialized in structural steel for large-scale projects. You will read drawings, prepare takeoffs, and write scopes for fabricators, joists, and erectors while pricing by labor and material.

You’ll coordinate with operations to sequence erection and manage cost risk. Ideal candidates have hands-on field steel experience, 8+ years in PM roles, and strong proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, BuildingConnected, and Excel; a Construction Management or

Qualifications

8+ years as a steel project manager, estimator, fabricator or erector PM
At least 3 years of hands-on field experience in construction roles
Strong drawing review, takeoff and shop drawing review skills
Constructability, sequencing, and trade coordination expertise
Experience writing scopes and building labor and material pricing breakdowns
Working knowledge of AISC Code of Standard Practice, SJI/SDI, OSHA Subpart R
Negotiation experience at $5M+ per scope and GMP cost management
Proficiency in Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, Procore, and Excel

Responsibilities

Review drawings and specifications at design milestones; perform independent tonnage, joist and deck takeoffs
Write field-ready scopes with inclusions/exclusions; drive RFIs to resolution before bid
Price every package by labor and material as installed; build CBS pricing forms
Coordinate erection sequencing with Operations and erectors; drive detailing and delivery order
Run coordination meetings; track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and submittals
Cross-train in other structural/envelope scopes to flex with project volume
