Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Steel Procurement to lead on-site steel logistics, fabrication coordination, and material verification on large-scale projects. You will work with PMs, fabricators, and dispatch teams to ensure timely deliveries and accurate material checks.

Mentor junior engineers, resolve complex delivery issues, and align procurement activities with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Travel nationwide is required.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in construction, project or materials coordination.
• Strong steel erection, fabrication, logistics experience preferred.
• Ability to read structural/shop drawings and BOMs.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Travel nationwide required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily and weekly steel delivery coordination with PMs, Sr. PMs, fabricators, dispatch teams and site leadership.
• Oversee fabrication and delivery schedules to align with sequencing and erection plans.
• Identify schedule risks and drive timely resolution of issues.
• Serve as escalation point for steel delivery, logistics, and material sequencing on site.
• Check-in delivered steel materials against BOLs, shop drawings, and shipping lists for accuracy.
• Mentor Project Engineers on delivery coordination, material verification and documentation.
