Job summary

The Oregon Department of Corrections seeks a Technical Support Manager to lead the statewide desktop support program and oversee a team of 34 professionals. You will set technology standards, manage assets, and collaborate with agency leadership to advance IT services across Oregon.

This on-site role initially, with potential hybrid work after the trial period, requires CJIS-clearance readiness and strong governance of 24/7 operations and risk management.

Qualifications

• Six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience (or three years with a bachelor's).
• Experience leading distributed technical support teams and 24/7 operations.
• Proficiency in desktop/endpoint management and Intune preferred.
• Experience managing large budgets and strategic IT planning.
• Knowledge of asset management and lifecycle processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead statewide desktop support services, ensuring secure, reliable equipment and software.
• Supervise and develop a team of 34 technical professionals.
• Manage a $7.5 million biennial operating budget.
• Develop and implement tech support strategies and initiatives.
• Establish desktop standards, policies, and asset management practices.
• Partner with leadership and external stakeholders to address needs and risks.
• Evaluate service delivery using metrics and customer feedback.
• Support enterprise initiatives like continuity and disaster recovery.
• Provide expert consultation on technology operations and investments.
• Travel regularly across the state to oversee staff at multiple sites.
