Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking an IT Systems Administration Manager to lead the SaaS applications team, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing services in support of the agency's mission.

The role manages a six-person staff, partners with business and technology stakeholders, and drives improvements in application security, performance, and user experience. This is a full-time, telework/hybrid position within Washington State.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in system administration of enterprise SaaS and COTS apps.
• Experience leading IT staff and projects with successful delivery.
• Experience managing complex IT environments with multiple integrated systems.
• Experience implementing security, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and enforcing SLAs.
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SaaS Applications team operations to ensure availability, security, compliance, and performance.
• Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide coaching and development opportunities.
• Allocate resources, set priorities, and lead regular team meetings.
• Promote cross-training and recognize high performance; address issues promptly.
• Develop strategy and service plans for resources, training, and tiered support.
